Math Work Stations Blog Party...I'M IN!!!

So I've only been "out of school" for A day (my last official day being yesterday) and while I told myself I was not going to even THINK about school until I start teaching Summer School in a few weeks, here I am.  I have decided to join the Math Work Stations blog party hosted by Mrs. Wills and the many other great hostesses out there.  The question remains as to if I will make my blogs public by "linking" up with them.  As to this point, I've kinda kept my blog to myself.  I'm new to this whole thing and I'm just not sure if I'm ready to share with the world!!!  I've still got a lot to learn about blogging!!!  Anywho, I ordered my book from Amazon today (free shipping!!!) and am ready to get started.  I KNOW I have a LOT of work to do when it comes to UTILIZING math stations to their full potential!!!

Our Last Day of School

Well it is a bitter/sweet day.  Bitter because I will be saying "good-bye" to my lil' love muffins and sending them on to 1st grade.  But, they are READY!!!  It is amazing to look back and see how far they have come in nine short months...they are readers, writers, illustrators, mathematicians, and even scientists!  We have had so much fun this year learning together!

Good Luck My Lil' Firsties!!!!
And SWWWWWWEET because summer break is almost here (I've got one more teacher contracted day to complete on Monday)!!!
My plans for the summer:
  • Chuck and Dev's wedding festivities (I'm getting another SIL!!!! Yay!  I just love Dev)
  • teach 10 days of pre-k summer school (only 3 hrs. per day...I can do that...right???)
  • spend time with the boys doing whatever we want
I really have no idea what we will do with the rest of our time...AND I'M TOTALLY COOL WITH THAT!!!!

Guess I'd better quit blogging and get ready for THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL...BTW it's an early out AND I've got plans with some of the gals to have a celebratory outing after school.  I'm so excited!!!

Kindergarten Rocks!

We celebrated completion of Kindergarten last night at our Kindergarten Celebration...I've got to say that Kindergarten at G.E.S. truly does ROCK!  The whole evening was a BLURRRR....I wish I had taken a moment to step back and take it all in.  I also wish I had designated someone to take photos for me as I have none of the special night. :(  I'm sure that if I ask real nice, there are a few parents that would share their pic w/me. :)  The students had an excellent Rock 'n Roll performance.  They sang and danced to Hound Dog Vowel Sounds, This is How We Rock, and Rock 'n Roll Tooty Ta...it was AWESOME!  My many thanks go out to our Music Diva Janice, to Neriman for making delicious cookies, to "visiting teacher" Linda who is covering for Jena while she is at home with baby Kyler, to Krystal (one of my kindergarten partners in "crime") for making the awesome certificates and programs for the night, and of course all of the kindergarten students and their families!  It's been a great year and I hate to see it end!

**When/if I get some pics of the evening...I'll post them!**

We say "Good-bye"

Today we let our 10 painted lady friends free...it was a bitter/sweet event for us.  We knew they had to go, but we have so enjoyed watching them.
It was such a B.E.A.U.tiful day! We haven't had many of those lately!
Here is one final picture of our class with our "friends"!

Aren't they a bunch of lil' love muffins...can't believe in a few short weeks I'll be sending them off to the 1st grade!!!  This year has just flown by...

Busy! Busy! Busy!

The end of the school year brings MANY fun activities...and don't get me wrong, I L.O.V.E. it, but my goodness there is so much to do!!!!  Today we were eXtra busY, buSY, BUSY!

This morning we had breakfast at school with our mom's!   After breakfast, our mom's were invited to our classroom to plant flowers with us.

Pictures coming SOON!
I want to include everyone...but I'm kinda new to this whole "blog thing" and would like to put in a slideshow rather than a bunch of individual photos.

In the afternoon, we had our Reading Counts party!  Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Stewart, planned many fun stations for us to participate in...jumping tents, jump ropes and hoola hoops, sidewalk chalk, BUBBLES, and even a water bomb station!!!  We had an AWESOME time!

Again...I've got a lot of FUN photos!  I really need to figure out this slideshow thing!

And this evening, our P.T.O. put on it's annual "FUN NIGHT" for the Pre-K thru 5th grade students!  This is always a great night for the students of our school.  Our P.T.O. is the BEST!  We are very lucky to have such caring, supportive, and involved parents!!!!

We also completed our 1st week of "Celebrating the Alphabet"!  While I do not have any pics of the activities...the students are having a great time with it!  See the previous post for an activities calendar!  Thanks again to Mrs. Kimbrell's Kindergarten Kids for sharing these fun activities with our class!
